The Tribe
Our Tribe
I’m a tad frustrated right now. Things aren’t working out
the way I’d like them to work out for me today. Sometimes it seems like no
matter how hard I try to stay positive the negative energy comes in to attack
me. Sometimes I feel like my life is a series of misfortunes and screw-ups Is this what everyone feels like occasionally?
Luckily that energy doesn’t last long, and it takes me a few minutes or hours
to realize how blessed I am.
Moving from home and family and friends is a hard adjustment. It doesn’t matter how much your family and friends get on your nerves when you move halfway across the globe it can be lonely and stressful.
It doesn’t matter where I move/relocate to, I tend to gravitate to people who are like me. I’ve been here a little over two months and have met several people who aren’t as crazy as I am, but we gel well together. We call ourselves The Tribe. We respect each other. Our tribe consists of about seven people. We don’t gossip about each other when one of us leaves the tale, we don’t fight, we don’t hate. We respect and love each other. We lift each other up. It’s amazing to find people who you can trust, and I thank the almighty I’ve found my tribe. We all provide safe spaces for each other and we can share whatever we need to share when we need to share.
I love it. We aren’t perfect, but we’re perfect for each other. We’re from all over the world and we appreciate our differences. We celebrate our similarities and embrace our quirkiness. We’re from Australia, South Africa, England, Canada, and the States. Our talents range from painting to singing, to writing, to boxing and so much more. There is no discord or hate in our tribe.
I’m not as frustrated when I write about the Tribe. It calms me and makes me recognize how blessed I am to have met so many wonderful, dependable people so quickly. As I reflect on my blessings, here are some moments we’ve shared with each other for the past two months.

That is awesome!! Truly it is an honour to walk amongst such wonderful folks.
