Censoring famous art can be fun

Censorship, according to vocabulary.com, is blocking something from being read, heard, or seen. Working abroad in a school library requires me to censor some of the books in the library.
I’m not sure how I feel about censorship because, to be honest, I don’t think people should be told what they can and can’t read. However, I don’t believe a 12-year-old should read an erotica novel by Zane either. I guess it’s a personal thing. If you want to read a book, then read a book. If you don’t want to read a book, then don’t read a book. Should books about how to make bombs be available to the public? How about books that spew racism and misogynism? Censorship is a big can of worms I’m not willing to debate or open. I read what I want and I don’t want anyone telling me what I can and can’t read.

Censoring books have become my FAVORITE thing to do on my job!!! Books about art are FULL of naked people and I LOVE coloring clothes on those people. I’ve defaced some famous art and am always looking at books to see if I can draw clothes on some man or woman or baby. I won’t lie, it makes me smile when I get out that permanent black marker and draw a dress or pair of pants or a onesie on a picture.

I’m smiling while I type this blog cause I love drawing clothes on naked people that much!! The students that come across some of these pictures are (of course) more childish than me, but not that much. I can’t laugh and giggle with them when they see famous naked pictures, but I laugh at their reactions after they leave. It’s hilarious to see them get embarrassed at a piece of world-famous art that hasn’t been censored.

I try to catch all the famous naked art in books I can before they see it but sometimes I miss them. If I miss them the students will bring it to my attention and I will tend to the censoring when I can. At one point in my career, I refused to censor art, now I look forward to it.

Here are some famous pieces I’ve had to censor. And just know I was loving every minute I was drawing clothes on the pictures. I’m not that good, but I think I'll get better as time goes by. Enjoy and know that I’m smiling the entire time I’m covering their famous naked bodies!!! You may even recognize some of these paintings. By the way, some of these clothes were drawn on the pictures before I got to them, and that made me sad. I'll be back with more!!!
