Nova

This pandemic has made us all slow down: at least for a while. I'm no different. I had to come back to the States so I could renew my passport. That alone is going to take a miracle. To make a long story short, I'm stuck here for what seems like a while.

I'm staying with my Godson. He's amazing and we don't get to see each other a lot so I'm glad I get to spend time with him. I'm comfortable here. I have my own space and I'm never lonely.

Staying with him comes at a small price. He and his roommate have a dog. A one-year-old,  12 pounds destructive Yorkie Terrier. His name is Nova and I have to be honest and tell the truth. I love Nova and Nova loves me.

Nova has chewed up my sock, my shoestring, and my housecoat. He chewed up the housecoat while I was wearing it. He stands on the couch so he can place his front 'arm paws' on my shoulder so he can chew on my hair (he likes the shea butter mixture I put on my hair).  He has eaten said tub of the shea butter mixture. And he almost chewed up the tub the shea body butter mixture was in. He doesn't care what I'm doing if he wants to play.  He likes to jumps on me when I'm busy. When he does that I have to stop what I'm doing and play with him (it's the law). He jumps on my laptop when I'm using it and walks across the keyboard. He thinks I'm his chew toy. I have seen him destroy a NEW chew toy in less than an hour. So imagine when he jumps on the couch and wants to wrestle with me. He just typed an entire row of Z's while I'm trying to write this blog.

Nova lets me rub him behind his ears when he's resting on my lap and allows me to rub his belly. He falls asleep on my lap and runs to me when he gets into trouble.

I'll admit it. I enjoy my time with Nova. I don't want a pet or anything I have to be in charge of taking care of. But the deal here is the best for me. I get to play with and hang out with the world's most destructive 12-pound cutie while he makes me laugh.  He reminds me of how important it is to have someone or something your life is to love. Thank you Nova for allowing me to love you.

NOTE: PLEASE DON'T LET THESE ADORABLE PICTURES OF NOVA FOOL YOU!!!

The only place Nova could put his toy that day was on my shoe.
